Greetings from Uchida Design

Uchida Design Inc. is a design studio established by an interior designer, Shigeru Uchida. While carrying on Uchida's philosophy and design principles, we are pursuing a wide range of design possibilities not only in interior design, but also from architecture to furniture and products, regardless of genre. From the 80's on, “interior design” mainly referred design of commercial spaces, but as Uchida illumed, all space that surround our lives are the objects of design. Delivering designs to the needs of today, through profoundness of solution that would reach far and wide, and should our work be endorsed into future standards, we shall be gratified.
Environment and communication are important factors today. There are technology advancements in communication media and tools such as IT, AI and SNS, but nevertheless, design has the most effective role in the settings of human interactions. As most humans do, we unconsciously behave in traditional manners, or excite over something new and ponder unforeseen future, constantly drifting between present and physical. To explore "human life" and "culture”, and to consider the wellbeing of people are the fundamentals of design process. Being empathetic to each need, we will continue to pursue “design that is meant for someone.”
One of our policies is to "regenerate the old and produce innovative forms". Design solution may not be just one, but we believe perfect solution can be derived. We aspire to be a studio that takes on new challenges daily to conceive alternative designs.
